Relax all your muscles. Keep your eyes shut. Breathe slowly as if you were asleep. Thoughts will be running through your mind, and that's ok. Just keep breathing slow, and make sure the room is dark and it is quiet. By simulating sleep, your body goes into sleep mode.
This odten works unless you have something clinical, for which you ought to see a doctor.
Who/what is giving you trouble?
Kill it or break and go lay down, shut your eyes, and breath slowly : )
Practice some meditation. It will calm your mind.
Once you learn the technique you may use it while staying awake in bed.
You will fall asleep instantly and wake up refreshed the next morning.
I lay down stare at the clock...once it flips to a new minute I try counting to 60 and see how close I can get my counting to the exact time the minute changes, its harder than you think, pretty soon I cant keep my eyes open to see if I make it, and I'm off to dream land.
I've had a lot of pleasant experiences in my lifetime of 70 years...and am planning at least a few more of them in my head. When I put my head down --after my prayers of gratitude-- I calmly reflect back on one of those fond memories or one that may still be on the planning board. Next thing I know, it's time t'get up and begin a new day...barring the occasional interruptive pee when I've had too many Buds! :-)
By the way, I don't linger in those prayers very long...God gets bored with the same-old/same-old, and one time I caught HIM falling asleep before I did! :-)
making love sometimes does the trick
I have this problem once in a while. What helps me is I either take calms the night time ones (its a herbal tablet) or if its really bad ive taken nytol(which is amazing) your best checking with the chemist first if you can take. They are good to take for about 2-3 days but after that dont seem to work.
If you cant sleep because your stressed or things on your mind (which in my case is usually the problem) I take time before I go to bed to think about whats bothering me and ways I can solve those problems so when I do go to bed my mind is clear.
Might not be much help to you but all the best either way :)
because you are only 14 yrs old, i cant tell you of thinking of me jumping over the fence a 100 times will help
try not to get out of bed until you've slept, no matter how bored you get trying to sleep :)
Have you tried taking a sleeping pill or a benadryl?
I alway's find that if I can't get too sleep a book helps me nod off easily. Assuming its not a good book anyways lol.
Exercise during the day.
Raise your self up in the morning from dead tired. You need more sunlight, if you're having problems sleeping.
Too little exposure to sunlight causes insomnia.
Sunlight regulates melatonin, a brain chemical that controls the body temperature.
Open drapes, shades or blinds and then get right up.
Eat your breakfast in the sunlight.
Go for a walk in the sunlight, and forget those sun glasses. This is for those not being able to fall asleep.
Now if you wake up early in the morning, you need more late afternoon sunlight.
I'd also leave the drapes open till late in the day. Take a late afternoon walk too.
