  • Do some cardio such as elliptical, treadmill (or outside running) for 45min 4-5 days a week, and low impact weight training 3-4 days...(you can do cardio everyday if you want) But with strength, your muscles need time to repair. I would stick to lighter weights, with higher reps, but the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn all day, and it boosts your metabolism, so I would not be afraid of weight training! (Keep in mind also 1500-1600 calories is good, but if you start to plateau, you may actually need to increase your calories to rev your metabolism) Good luck!!
  • sounds like you have a pretty good diet going on (provided it's fruits, veggies, and proteins - not sugars and fats). i am not trying to discourage you, but if you currently are not carrying a lot of body fat, being as small as a size 2 may be unrealistic. the least you should be eating daily is 1200 calories, but staying at 1500 is fine if you are going to be exercising more. the best way to lose fat is to do cardio, like walking, running, or swimming - and you should do this daily, for at least 1/2 an hour. if you are limited on time i would recommend swimming - you get cardio and full body toning. the second part of slimming down is toning the muscle without bulking up. you can tone your muscle by lifting light weights with high repetitions. often, cardio is good enough for muscle toning, but it is important that you also work your core muscles - abs and lower back.
