I just returned from north carolina where i found rubies, emeralds and sapphires..how do i find out how many i have and how much they could be worth?

    The best way would be to take them to several jewelers and let them know that your are taking them to others. That way they know that they are in competition with others. Therefore, they are more likely to give you a fair price for the stones. Don't rely on a single estimate. That is a classic way in which a less than honest person takes advantage of those that ignorant of the true value of that which they are trying to sell. Knowing that they are competing with others for the purchase of the stones without know what the other bids are is great incentive to offer what they are really worth rather than just what the jeweler thinks he can get away with offering.

    I believe the most accurate way is to bring them to a Jeweler in your town and ask for an appraisal. Good luck..
