Are any languages as strange as English? Are we the only language where letters can have so many sounds that "ghoti" could sound like "fish"?

I find Welsh difficult to fathom.
How can Llanelli be pronounced Clan-ethli.
The two sets of double l's have completely different sounds....
However English is still probably the worst.

We have "wind" - as in the air moving and as in the verb to wind up for example. Both sound completely different for the same spelling.
Then of course we can have words that sound the same but are spellt different ..
    e.g. to too and two.
And we have co many silent letters - eg p in psychologist.
