DeKalb is about 2 hours north of my on I-57. NIU is there. I have some friends there and I have some friends and family in Chicago. If you are passing through, let me know and I can see about some housing arrangements though I don't know how convenient they would be for you :)

Yep. I knew a girl whose boyfriend went to College in DeKalb.
My cousin had a DeKalb corn seed shirt from his de-tassling days.
I have personally been there on a Sunday drive. Nice "Bedford Falls-esque" midwestern college town.
