I have been metal detecting on and off for over 20 years.. it's a wonderful hobby, and one of the only ones that pays you back (and although some detectors can be pretty expensive, I've paid for mine with one ring that I found)...

I want one SO bad but they are so freaking expensive its not funny!
I had one, it was a second hand one, that broke.
I never had the chance to find anything really great with it.

I had one when I was much younger. My parents bought it for me from Toys R Us.
I maybe found a dollar in change with it, until it broke.
It would be cool if I could find an inexpensive metal detector and cruise the beach hunting for treasure. :)

I used to be friends with a guy that had one, he told me that he found heaps of jewlerry and stuff but he handed it in to charity,,, heaps nice guy :)
The BEALE CIPHERS [sic] claim $30 MILLION (today's figure) in gold and jewels are buried in IRON POTS within 4 miles of Montvale, Virginia. Could metal detectors be adjusted to locate those iron pots, about 6' underground?
