Depends what you want. If you just want to watch TV and movies the TV is the choice but if you want to surf the net, interact and explore, the laptop is the way to go. I'd buy a laptop before I bought a plasma TV.

Depends what features are important to you. If you want something portable with more functionality then the laptop is your best choice. If you're looking for a video display that showcases the picture quality of HDTV then the plasma tv fits that bill much better than a laptop would.
