My son was pulled over by a traffic police. The police said he would mail him the ticket and did not write it out. Has anyone ever heard of this? Was this the police's way of letting my son off the hook?

Never! Tickets are mailed often these days (photo radar) but I've never heard of a cop not requesting a signature on a ticket with a physical police officer stop or stating that it would be mailed. It just might be your son's lucky day!
