My Golden Retriever does.

In the fall, as the weather becomes cooler, my dog sheds a lot less fur than he does in the spring or summer. Also, a dog's coat is composed of two main layers. Guard hair (on the top) is longer and coarser than the underfur (below the guard hair). The guard hair protects against outside factors, like rain. The underfur is shorter and curlier (maybe "more curly", I don't know) than the guard hair. It's main job is to keep the dog warm. So maybe in winter, they get more underfur. I don't really know though. All I know is that in the summer my dog sheds a lot of fur, but not so much in the winter. By the way, my dog's a chocolate lab. ;-)
