If it is the PS3 that's screwing up, I can't help you. But maybe the system's not the problem. Maybe your television's dying.

I have a PS3 80gig. I powered up w controller and no disc was in the tray. The light changed to green. When it got ready to display the dashboard, the screen showed smeared green colors. I turn it on now, it has no pic or sound! WTF!
