Help answer this question below.

At a wild game dinner, there are dishes made from duck, goose, wild boar, pheasant, deer, elk, ostrich, quail, armadillo, and raccoon. Which dishes would you be willing to try?

All but ostrich, i know some people who had it said it was nasty and smelt horable. So maby i would smell it first.

I have tried them all and do a lot of game cooking. At the game dinners the food to try is wonderful.

I attended a wild game dinner a long time ago and all the food served was excellent.
I would try the wild boar, ostrich and armadillo since I don't believe I've tasted them and they sound good.

- They are not endangered at all, but they are only common in warmer places like the southwest and Mexico. They are more difficult to prepare than many other animals because of their hard shell, but they are said to be tasty. They are commonly sold at Chinese markets in San Francisco, among other places. Apparently there are a number of Chinese recipes for them such as this:

I've been to several "wild game dinners," but they
haven't had armadillo or ostrich. Guess I'd have to try the armadillo first then the ostrich. One dinner I attended included turtle soup, and a salad made with cattails and other items from the local pond. It was really very good.

- Ah yes, I believe it's the root of the cattail that's supposed to be something like artichoke hearts. I've seen armadillo for sale as food in San Francisco's Chinatown, but I've never tried it either.

I've had duck, goose, boar, pheasant, deer, ostrich, quail, raccoon. I'll try elk first.

- Dove, bear, kangaroo, alligator, rattle snake, squirrel, not wild game but, dog (unknown to me until after I ate it while stationed in Korea).

- Interesting! I had guinea pig once in Peru. And traveling in China I had a number of unusual things but I didn't have the language skills to understand the names of all of them.
