Question

Help answer this question below.

When I get bored as a passenger on long road trips, I use a laptop to keep busy. When a commercial airline pilot stays at his post, is he allowed to use his laptop? Or is he forced to get bored throughout the whole autopilotted flight?

I think that there is more to the professional job of being an airline pilot. I wouldn't think that it would be a boring job, and surely the pilot wouldn't lose focus of the job he's doing. He has several hundred lives in his care, so I don't think you'd catch a pilot goofing off on the internet while working. I could be wrong, but that airline would lose my business if I knew the pilot was playing solitare while he was supposed to be paying attention to the flight.
