Help answer this question below.

I can't believe I'm asking this, but in the NBA, when a player is fouled in the act of shooting, and MISSES the shot, is a FGA registered? Or is the FGA only registered when the player makes the basket?

    If you make the shot, the FGA is counted. If you don't, it's negated and is not recorded.

    So, no. If you don't make a shot while you're fouled in the act, you never shot it.

    ^ But, in terms of stat keeping, if you miss the shot, is it registered as an attempt towards the player's shooting stats?

    If you make the basket you get the points plus one free throw. If you miss it you either get 2 or 3 free throws,...depending on what kind of shot it was.
