if you are trying to make already colored hair darker.. than you can dye it. however if you are trying to lighten colored hair. you MUST use a lightener. color will not lift color, period. also, please realize this cannot be done in one step. i would start by getting highlights and keep doing this every few months.

Try one of the Colourants, Nice and Easy by Clairol is good.
You are lucky to have a blondish colour anyway. if it was really dark i would only advise professional colouring.
Try taking it lighter gradually and follow the instructions to the letter.

my natural hair colour is dirty blonde to untill i dyed it black, then i wanted to go back blonde but i couldnt it just went orange. i tryed highlights and everything and itstill went orange so i went to hairdressers and they coudnt even get it the right colour i wanted it just looked yellow :/

DON'T try to do this yourself or at least without a lot of research. You are right that if you try to go straight from black to blonde, you will be orange or mixed colors. Black to blonde is a difficult process and must be done gradually.

My brother dyed his hair dark black, and then when he wanted his normal hair color back (blonde) he bleached it, and it turned orange.

you can use 3% hydrogen peroxide, it will work and it won't give you that orange/red color in the end. I had the same problem but hydrogen peroxide worked for me.
