What do you think of Jon Gnagy and his 1950s tv show called "Learn to Draw"? Here's a sample (many eps at YouTube - each just under 10 minutes long) for drawing an old oak tree.

I remember Jon Gnagy learn to draw, very well. I was 8 to 10 years old and tried to draw everything he did. I probably had a few of his books. I remember he like to draw in charcoal, but my mother drew the line(no pun intended) at the mess it made. Or, the mess I made with it. Bob Ross' painting series reminds me so much of Jon Gnagy.

I remember that very well, mostly his voice I think because at the time I was in transition between French and English and he was talking about one of my favorite things, drawing:-)

Interesting, but I didn't ever watch the show or even know of it, until now. It does remind me of Bob Ross' "The Joy of Painting" TV Show (1983-95) that my mother & I used to watch. A half hour show and he would paint a picture in that half hour ... kinda cool. Some of them are in this tribute ....
