Do you believe that the Abominable Snowman (Yeti) exists? Why or why not?

    Not really, there may have been larger animals that inhabit snowy areas, but I don't think it would be anything like the Yeti myth.

    I think it is entirely possible for there is so many areas in the world that have not been explored,especially heavily wooded and mountainous terrains.New species of animals are found to this day,and since these creatures have not been proven not to exist,they could exist.

    The Yeti

    Today I’m going to talk about Yetis.
    My focus question is “Does the yeti exist ?”
    Please listen to me and form your own opinion.

    Yetis are thought to live in the Himalayan Mountains near Nepal and Tibet.

    A long time ago the people of Nepal told their children if you are bad the yeti will hunt them down
    so they were well behaved all the time.

    When explorers came to Nepal to see if there was any evidence of yetis there, people from Nepal did not believe Yetis were true so they wouldn't help them.

    Some people believe the yetis exist because some explorers have heard sounds like crying. These sounds might be yetis. Some photographs have been taken of footprints in the snow. In 1925 a Greek photographer took a photo of a footprint and in 1951, Eric Shipton took photos. Just this year, 2008, Japanese explorers took photographs of footprints. Are these footprints made by yetis?

    Other people do not think Yetis are real because the explorers have not seen a yeti. A skull was found but it was not a Yeti it was a goat’s skull. A skin was found but it was not a yeti’s skin. It was a Blue bear’s skin. In the mountains there is not much oxygen so people sometimes imagine things have people imagined seeing and hearing the yeti?


    My opinion is Yetis don’t exist. What do you think?

    Actually Russians claim 'indisputable proof' of Yeti. There isn't a ton of evidence to work with — just a few strands of hair and some tracks in the snow — but it's enough that the research team says its 95 percent sure that the yeti exists.
