Why do people use Windows when they have nothing but problems? Why don't they use a Mac or run Linux on their PC? I don't get it.

As for Linux, learning a new OS and it being free ware may send people astray.

As for Mac, they can be costly and I really don't care for OS X. Besides, I haven't had ANY trouble with Windows XP or Vista. ME had Worms but other than that I've been satisfied with Microsoft's OSs.

Because its a boat load of work to run linux, not to mention learning a whole new operating system that isn't exactly supported by many major software developers.

As far as Mac goes, do we really want to be associated with the "smug" crowd? Also, a whole lot of games just don't work on them.

In many aspects, Linux is not very user friendly. It was designed by computer geeks for computer geeks, not for the regular Joe or Jane. Macs are more expensive and when live on a budged and have to pick between a PC that will cost you less than $400.00 or a Mac that may go for a little over $1,000.00....there is no doubt which one you will choose.

    There's nothing to "get".

People use what they're sold or what they're familiar with.

Walk into the electronics section of Circuit City, Walmart or Best Buy and tell me how many Macs and Linux' (whatever that is) are on display.

Be thankful that YOU know the difference and can avoid whatever problems Windows users encounter.

I can run windows with my eyes closed and have never encountered a problem I can't fix myself.
My neighbor has a mac and I can't help her when that thing gets tempermental.
I find macs much more difficult to run and if it develops problems forget it.
I feel kind of sorry for her as her mac was a gift and she is kind of stuck with it.
She still comes here occasionally to use Windows XP when she is having problems with her mac.

Because I'm poor. I'd love to have a Mac, but they're a little pricey.

As for Linux, tell me how to install it, and I gladly will.
