Hair Disaster!!! Just used a box of red hair colour that I have had laying around for 3 months, I used it and it bleached out my inch long roots but did nothing to the rest of my hair. Is it safe to colour my hair again tomorrow to cover this disaster?

this is because tint doesnt lift tint and it has only changed you roots as this is your natural hair colour, the only way to get rid of the colour is to buy some high lift hair bleach and high volume peroxide and mix with water to make a solution to rinse through the hair to strip the colour out, your hair will keep getting lighter with time. once the hair has lifted you can then wash it and put another colour on top as long as t has no ash tones or else t will go khaki.
    thanks geri

Depends what it was you have put on it and what you intend to try to cover the problem with. 3 months should not make any difference to a hair colour they hang around stores and warehouses for ages . As long as it is not years out of date.. Red is the colour that fades faster than any other . what colour is the rest of your hair were you changing the whole colour?
