Page separator for when you spilled your sticky drink while you were reading?
-
it is a line by line reader/pointer/page turner so that you will not tear up the pages when you turn them and also so that you don't leave smudges on the pages -which could be really important if you are handling an antique

Looks like a planting stake marker to me:-) Would make a nice bookmark instead of folding over those pages and making dog ears :-)

A page cutter. At one time, books were published with the blocks of 16 pages still folded and with their edges uncut. A sensitive reader needed a good share edge to cut the pages before being able to read the book. Amongst Darwin's papers when he died was the publication of the paper by Gregor Mendel which would have explained how inheritance happens, and provided the mechanism Darwin sought for his Theory of Evolution. We know he never read it because the pages are uncut.

It looks like a bone folder. Something that you use to make tight creases when folding paper. I'm not sure what it has to do with reading books though.

*Frowns.* Seriously, I have no clue. Some kinda bookmark?

A support to insert in the spine of a book to keep it from rolling up and breaking apart?? Or to spread glue in the spine to hold it together?
-
It looks like the repair tool used to repair or restore books with.

A mini fire extinguisher that can be kept between the pages. If the smoker reader accidentaly sets fire to the book while falling asleep while reading the book - this tiny little fire extinguisher can put out the fire and save the book from too much damage!
