Can someone with herpes have unprotected sex to have children, or is that a massive risk to take, even though they havent had a break out for a while? or stick with using a condom, or dont have sex at all.

    given that you had genital herpes before getting pregnant the chance that your baby will be infected is very, very low. Also, women with genital herpes are examined carefully for any symptoms before giving birth. If you have sores or signs that an outbreak is coming at the time of delivery, the baby may be delivered by cesarean section to be sure it doesn't have contact with the virus.
