Help answer this question below.

My car makes this really weird metal on metal sound when I first start it. It goes away after 5 mintutes. what could this be? The Oil is full so it is not that and it is not the sound a belt makes.

Do you have a good oil pump? Is the oil the right grade or is it too thick/viscous? Are the oil passages clear?

Or it could be the clutch or some other transmission-related issue.

Could you attach a *.wav file for us to hear the sound you're talkling about?

my dad had this problem and it was his clutch

I have a '97 Eclipse GST and when I start the car it makes a sqeeling sound (like a glazed belt) until the car is warmed up. The sound goes away when I push in the clutch in and comes back when let it out. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

After my car has been idling for 5 min. it will make a loud sqealing grinding sound. If I put it in gear it goes away and is fine while driving and stopping. If I'm not in the car it will shut off. Had belts checked.
