  • It's really nice sometimes -- when I lived in Russia, I went sledding and skiing a lot. On the other hand, you have to put on lots of layers every time you go outside and often the snow gets into your shoes and the neck of your coat and melts, which is not pleasant.
  • Well, first off, it is beautiful. Enough snow can even transform a garbage dump into something of ethereal beauty. It's also wet, and cold and slippery. It can make driving hazardous. When they plow the streets here in Boston, heavy snow makes for a huge wall of icy slush that the plow pushes up against parked cars, so going to work the next morning can be interesting. But I have lived in Southern California, Virginia, Minnesota dn Massachusetts. Personally, I prefer having all 4 seasons. I like snow. Good thing, because we got 18 inches Christmas week.
  • It's beautiful to look at, but not a lot of fun to clear from the driveway. It's beautiful, when it has first fallen, but as it gets violated by external forces, it gets dirty and lumpy looking and kind of loses some of it's charm. It creates a lot of extra work, as does most severe weather, so it is loved by some and hated by others. It does change the scenery, while it's around.
  • onestly in my opinion...it sucks. When you are a kid it is cool, you get out of school you get to go play in it and stuff but as an adult it usually means you still have to go to work so you have to get up 3 hours early to go outside and dig your car out of the snow, defrost it and then drive 2 miles an hour to work. If you are lucky some moron doesn't slam into you. Then if you are REALLY luck like myself you come home and find the next morning that some dope shoveled all of the snow off and around from his car onto yours..then of course the plows come and scrape up the snow off the road, which all they are really doing is pushing it aside so then it blocks your car..yeah you can drive on the street but of course you have to dig out of or drive over the 4 foot snow pile in front of your car. By then the snow is looking all black and dirty...not so pristine and pretty anymore..then of course it gets sunny just long enough to melt a little snow but then gets really cold again and the melted snow turns to ice, so now you get to drive on frozen icy streets and the remaining snow is even harder to shovel and move because it is halfway frozen solid now...yeah can't you tell I just love snow
  • Its always nice, but it gets old fast. Out here in Colorado it usually melts pretty quick which makes it a lot more easier to handle, but when it just sits on the ground for two weeks it gets annoying and I just want it to go away. Its wonderful to be able to drive for 2 hours and go snowboarding whenever I want though.
  • I guess if you've never lived with it before, you might find it wonderful but I've lived with it my entire life. And in my own personal opinion, it totally sucks. Its cold. It sticks to everything and makes a huge mess, especially when it starts to melt. It causes slippery driving conditions and is just an all around pain to deal with.
  • Oh! New Zealand sounds fantastic! far as Iowa goes..ummm..do you like cows? You would see a lotta cows. There really aint too much to do here but there is a large ski resort real close in Illinois. (I live right on the border of the 2 states) You could ski, snowboard or go sledding.
  • LOL, in Illinois is where the ski resort is. Both Iowa and Illinois do have some beautiful state parks but best to see those in the summers or we could ride a ferry down the Mississippi River. Go horseback riding on some trails. The best time to visit here is in the summer. When its winter, all there is is sledding.
