  Sounds like you've got lots of digital bits surrounding you .. keeping you in sync with others via time. Exception is your wall clock and maybe that alarm clock.

• I love the wall clock because it's battery powered, so never loses the time when the power is lost.

• Good point! I've got a huge wall clock that's "stuck" because I haven't taken it down to replace the batteries! Actually, I take that back. The motor gave way. Need to take the whole clock into a shop and have the gizmo replaced .. and the hands bent/set in a bit better so they don't hit each other. Worth doing because that little gizmo and gold hands are sent onto a huge piece of redwood .. about 2 feet wide .. irregularly shaped. I love that thing. But for telling time, it's dead in the water as we speak. (Hmmmmm .. sounds like a "to do" list item) :)

  In earlier times, that would be what .. five traditional things. Those other nine are in modern contraptions (computers, tvs, microwaves ..).

• Well, it just happens. Example: I don't think that you can buy a microwave oven that doesn't have a clock in it. I didn't need the clock, but I did want the microwave!!:)

• How on earth could any of us ever be late to anything? LOL Actually, I love seeing the combinations of things we're each using. You, for instance, go from a couple of antique clocks to lots of digital read-outs. :)
  Do you need to wind up any of those clocks with a metal key?

• Yes, the two antique clocks are a ships clock and an old crystal regulator. They both keep good time, too. And I have a cuckoo clock that is just pulling the weights. But there is no question that I know what time it is LOL!!!!

• Yes, yes, and yes! (that re: your two antique clocks and your cuckoo clock). I have one that does those chimes on the 1/4 hour. Part of it at 15 minutes after. Double that at 1/2 hour mark. Add a bit more for 3/4's around. At the hour .. full long melody plus a chime for each hour so you know if it's two o'clock or ten o'clock. Those regular clock sounds form a sort of background sound that's wonderful and soothing. :)

• Yes, I've got the Cuckoo clock that twitters and couples dance to two tunes twirling around, and the Crystal Reg bongs on the hour plus one battery clock has a different bird song at each hour during daylight hours only. So if I hear geese indoors, I know it's one o'clock :-)

• Oooooh, you have a grandfather clock! The only one of those I've ever had was the 3D paper one I created to scale for a miniature room I created one time! lol But have always admired them, so nice to see it on someone's list.

• Interesting answer, Prime ... on your timekeeping devices .. then on the nature of time itself.
  Hurray re: your cuckoo clock. Never had one, but bet it would be fun.
  You don't get a lot of sleep!! I'm just at four to six for days in a row, then out of nowhere I'll sleep 8 or 9 hrs .. then back to the few again. But you're right about "markers" and reference points.
