Members who cannot afford services are allowed to participate in some lower level activities. They also have the option of helping to recruit new members and donating time instead of money until they're making enough money from recruiting new members to switch to paying in monetary donations.

There is a Free Scientology Center in Churches of Scientology where those who cannot afford to donate may receive auditing without donation. As described above, many Scientology services do not require donation, and Scientology scripture is available at local Churches of Scientology and libraries.

There are also books, books, books and free public lectures, Sunday services and other religious services for which there is no donation. Books can be obtained in the local area by going to a Church of Scientology, a public bookstore or local library.
