  • I would, have and do talk to my girls about it. Sometimes the questions for them are easier to ask from me than a teacher. Not that I am any better at explaining things, but at these ages their little minds tend to warp what is actually being said as to what they hear.
  • I would talk to my own child regarding changes and any other growing up topics. It's better to hear it coming from someone close, who they know they can openly ask questions. Often these are many talks over time, as children take in whats been said, and come up with more questions. I also would rather if I heard my child make a comment, know where they heard it from and that their statement was basically true.
  • The "changes"??? Do you mean puberty? If so then it is ultimately my duty as a parent to explain to them what is going on, where they are going and what their responsibility is in the long run. I do not mind sex-ed in school - but it should not take place of the parent to child discussion that must take place prior to "the changes"... ;)
