I think that it was written by people with good intentions, then edited over time for selfish purposes... Though if it 'was' divinely inspired, it has still been edited over time, we know that because of the differences between the most original copy and the modern copies.
-
I think it was divinely inspired, but written by men. If you think about it, it is amazingly coherent for a series of manuscripts written by vastly different men over that long a period of history. Especially when you consider that its been translated into nearly every language on the globe. Yes, people keep finding older manuscripts to update the accuracy with, but translation still demotes accuracy and coherence.

Twhupfold has some problems with his idea of "differences" between original copies and modern copies. If you compare one of the several copies of Isaiah found at Qumran, and dating from the 2nd century BC, to a copy of Isaiah in Hebrew prepared today, you would find that most of the differences are, in fact, spelling errors. The text itself is remarkably intact, with no major differences. This is due to the strict copying rules of Jewish scribes. They had counted every letter, every word, the number of words in each sentence, the number of words in a passage, and the number of passages in a book, so that they could check at regular intervals as to whether they had made copying errors. If they did, the manuscript was abandoned, and ritually buried. And the whole thing begun again. So, was the Bible inspired by God: oh yes. Its integrity of belief from one end to the other shines out like a beacon. If you compare to the radical differences in the many many Hindu and Buddhist texts, and the "abrogations" in the Quran, you see the difference straight away. And God was not content to leave it there. Having moved the hearts of the writers to tell the story of his relationship with humanity, he protected it by the strictest of guards, the Jewish scribes.

The work of man. It was only inspired by God in the same metaphorical sense that, for example, Shakespeare's work was. There are pearls of widom there, but there are also whole passages of outrageous rubbish (viz. Leviticus), and many internal contradictions. If God actually wrote this, He could have used some better subeditors!

Simple answer: 2 Timithy 3:16 says that it was inspired by God, yes it was. Centuries ago, Jesus Christ, “the faithful and true witness” (Re 3:14), repeatedly and emphatically confirmed the genuineness of the Hebrew Scriptures, as did his apostles. (Lu 24:27, 44; Ro 15:4) Extant ancient versions, or translations, further bespeak the exactness of the preserved Hebrew Scriptures. Manuscripts and versions of the Christian Greek Scriptures bear unassailable testimony to the marvelous preservation and accurate transmission of that portion of God’s Word. We are therefore now favored with an authentic, thoroughly reliable Bible text. A thoughtful examination of preserved manuscripts of the Holy Scriptures bears eloquent testimony to their faithful preservation and permanence, giving added meaning to the inspired statement: “The green grass has dried up, the blossom has withered; but as for the word of our God, it will last to time indefinite.”—Isa 40:8; 1Pe 1:24, 25.

I believe it was and is Divinly inspired by the living God. I believe that God used men to write it down, but He is still the One Divine Author of The Bible. Thank you and God bless you!
-
I believe PERSONALLY it is a historical & spiritual document meant to bring human beings closer to God... UNFORTUNATELY between faulty human beings & demonic spirits we use Religion INCLUDING ATHEISM for satanic means... All religions have shed human blood at one time or another....
-
Yes, I believe it is the divinely inspired word of God. It was physically written by man but I believe that it is what God wanted us to have as His divine word.

I believe it is like a journal or diary of the Worlds past, present & future. And in my own belief only God could of known all this before hand. He may of let men wright it on paper ect:. But only as they where lead and guided by the Holy Spirit to do so. He also stated in His Word that if anyone was to take away or add to it that there would be a penalty for doing so. So yes I believe the true HOLY BIBLE is divinely inspired by the HOLY GOD. And His Holy Word shall never die. No matter what man try's to do.

If it was divinely inspired, then it was inspired by a singularly incompetent and incoherent god...

1. It is reasonable that God might exist. 2. Further, it is reasonable (based on the evidence) that this God who might exist might be personal and therefore have communicated with human beings. 3. The world’s religions are a reasonable place to look for evidence of such communication. 4. Among those representing the world religions, Jesus of Nazareth seems to hold the consensus as the person most likely to provide convincing evidence of the God who might exist. (Since Jesus is- in some way- incorporated into all major world religions. If all the world’s religious leaders were locked in a basement until they could elect only one person to represent the best of their beliefs, I believe Jesus would be the person selected.) 5. The resurrection of Jesus is a reasonable explanation for the existence of Christianity as a distinct belief system from Judaism. 6. An examination of the various alternatives and existing evidence convinces me that the Resurrection is, in fact, true. 7. If the Ressurection is true, then Jesus’ statements about himself, God, Truth, Sin, etc. (The Christian worldview) are true by deduction. 8. Based on this conclusion, I relate to the God who I now believe exists through Jesus. 9. My experience matches what Jesus describes, providing personal verification of the truth of Christianity. 10. Based on Pascal’s wager, I await eventual verification of this conclusion after death, but haven’t lost anything if I am wrong.

Yes I believe it is inspired by God and that he had men write down what he wanted to tell us, what we needed. I know what 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work"
-
I believe that it is the word of God, written through His prophets.

The workings of God within a man.

YES (both) As "the bible" consists of so many books written by so many men under the influence of one Holy Spirit that gives it a unity that is unsurpassed by many novelists trying to creat a cohseive novel!
-
I believe that the Bible was inspired by God, & written by man through God.

i believe without a shadow of a doubt that it is God's inspired Word. no other book has been criticised, and persecuted throughout the ages such as the bible. faithful men had to go into hiding for fear of being put to death if they were discovered to be translating it. at times this persecution came from the one religion who should have been protecting the bible, the catholic church. the catholic church was responsable for the deaths of christian martyrs such as william tyndale, his crime was translating the bible. this is an example of how in spite of severe persecution this book has survived through milleniums. the bible states that this would be so. the evidence is overwhelming. now it is up to you to find out the rest. for more information go to www.watchtower.org
