  • Written words usually require more time and use a lot more thinking than face to face talks because those ideas are usually thought up on the spot. So yes, they are better at conveying information, but I believe that looking at a person's face really gives a lot of information about their emotions.
  • It works both ways. Sometimes one writes an email or letter, with all the necessary information and points, but the message is received differently because the reader could not tell the "tone" in which it was intended. However, face to face communication can backfire as well. We can blurt things without really thinking it through and can be misconstrued. So although the receiver can see their faces and hear the tone, the message is not necessarily perceived favorably. Personally, I think written communication works best for me.
