Help answer this question below.

I am 9.5 weeks pregnant and last night fell in the snow. Now having aches and pains. Dont see my DR until 1/15/09. Can I take Ibuprofen?

No! It acts as a blood thinner and anti-inflammatory. Take tylenol (regular strength) for now and if you don't feel better call the DR and speak to an on-call nurse.

If you are concerned you can ask a pharmasist. They would be able to direct you to the best treatment.

You never EVER take ibuprofen or aspirin. You may take Tylenol which is acetominephine, but I would call your doctor if you are worried, or not sure about the dosage, they should be able to tell you over the phone.

- my doctor said i could take the full dosage of extra strength (500mg tablets)but i was 18 weeks at the time so you might just want to check the dosage

Do not take anything. If the pain is that bad reschedule or go to the emergency room. Tylenol is a drug and may hurt the child.

- If you are not most cases then you may have a problem and I doubt anyone would risk that. The pain also could be due to a problem with the baby and she should see a doctor as soon as possible regardless.

- I am 22 weeks, and she would know if she wasn't allowed to take ANYTHING, because there would be some kind of special circumstances. In a normal pregnancy it is fine. And if her elbow or knee hurts from falling in the snow, i doubt it has anything to do with the baby.

My doctor told me to stick to Tylenol. Of course, that was six years ago, and things may have changed.
