I agree that Dumbledore is dead (J.K. Rowling has expressly said so) but I think that he let Snape kill him to protect his identity as a double agent. This is why he froze Harry, so he wouldn't stop Snape.

    Interesting question.

I hate to think that he misplaced his trust in Snape so badly, but it would serve to emphasize that no one, including Dumbledore, is infallible.

However, read the chase sequence following the murder carefully. Does it seem to anyone else that Snape is actually instructing Harry how to defeat Voldemort when next they meet?

    Just a thought.

Dumbledore had planned it all out and asked snape to kill him.

Snape is NOT evil. Everything he did was under Dumbledores orders. In the movie half blood prince, snape CLEARLY even says "I don't want to do this anymore"

Dumbledore was one of the few people who actually cared about snape, so it was hard for snape to kill him. but it was under orders

I think he is good looking at the trust Dumbledore put on him. Afterall Dumbledore is the greatest wizard alive so he cant make such a basic mistake can he?

Since the last book was reveiled, we know very certainly that he is on the good side. On the last chapter,Harry Potter told his child,Albus Severus Potter,"You were named after two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probaly the bravest man I ever knew(which means Severus Snape)". I agree so. He was really the bravest and best character in the book. It's not just about following Dumbledore's orders, it's about the reason he did so and how brave he was to do so.
