Not completely sure because I don't look these things up, but I think adware adds unwanted hidden files to your computer, and tracking cookies track where you've been, I wouldn't doubt me being wrong, so wait for another answer to be sure.

All I know is when I use that software to delete "tracking cookies", I end up having to sign back into numerous websites I prefer remain open for quick logins on my personal home computer. :-P

They are created to allow the websites to "know" you - to remember that you have been there before. On the one hand, this means that they can log you in automatically as soon as you arrive, not needing to log in. On the other hand, it means that they can build up an exact picture of which pages you have visited, which many regard as intrusive. And several websites owned by the same organisation can correlate the information to build up quite a complete picture of you. A bit like having a shop assistant looking over your shoulder as you browse the shelves.

I delete them. Tracking cookies are just that, they track you and most send info back to the site they came from.
