You can start with some "freelance writing".That should begin you with the writing. Apart from that, you cannot become famous overnight.Forget about the "famous " aspect.Concentrate more your writing skills.Success shall follow. These links may be helpful All the best http://www.howtodothings.com/careers/a2181-how-to-become-a-writer.html http://www.quickoverview.com/overviews/freelance-writing-howto.html

I would start by searching for a good writer to admire.

My suggestion is that you learn how to write properly first

The costs of publishing books is so high that publishers will only take a risk on a sure bet: a writer with experience and a following. Start by writing short articles for magazines and newspapers. Keep working at it until you manage to break your way in there. It is hard to get in, but much easier than book publishers. The easiest place is small town newspapers and trade/hobby magazines. Build up a portfolio of work for them, then go for bigger magazines and papers. Meantime, start working on an outline, hook and first chapter for your book. Use the magazine contacts to get an agent and get started pitching your book.

If you want to write, read. Read the sort of thing you want to write. Read constantly. And then write. Write all the time. Write as much as you can. Ask other people to read your stuff and give you feedback. I have a creative writing degree from a university. I thought it would be helpful, but now I'm not so sure. In some ways, the education polishes off the rough spots and takes away the weirdness. Now, I suspect that it's those personal flourishes that make writing worth reading. The way to become a successful writer, nowadays, is to become famous -- and then write something. It's depressing. However, you can start writing right now. Get a blog. Post stuff. Post every day. If you write a lot and read a lot, your writing can only get better.

Write anything to start! A letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Letters to friends describing trips, adventures etc... Get as much writing done as you can.

There's an 80 + page book called the Elements of Style by Strump that I highly suggest you getting your hands on. Having said that, great writers are not formed, they're made that way. They come with all the equipment in tact. Grammar is part of it, but there's so much more to it than just that part. A good writer probably will never become a great one, and a bad writer can never dream of becoming a good one. Bad grammar does not mean you're a bad writer - it just means you need some help in that area. The other problem I have with your question is that you didn't say you wanted to be a GREAT writer - you said you wanted to be "Famous". Writers don't write to be famous (at least, not the really good ones). We write because there is a need within us to do so. If we get published, so be it - but for the most part, we do it for the craft...not to become Brittany Spears. Good luck.
