  • I don't think it's spying when you look into a public domain. and YES!
  • I do not have any kids so i dont need to.
  • The wiser parents I know keep tabs on their kids' MySpace accounts/profiles, yes. Some of them also use keylogger software to keep track of what their kids do online.
  • I don't "spy" I make it very clear and obviouse to them that I can and will (and do) look at anything and everything they do on My Space and Xanga. I have an account so I get copied on anything they post. I talk to them about anything I see that seems inappropriate. I even talk to their friends when I see them posting things that are questionable. Sorry but you have to be on top of these things in this day and age.
  • I joined so I could access my daughter's my space because her's is set to "private". I don't spy I read everything and she knows it! It's too risky to let them have the ability to chat with a bunch of strangers without your knowledge. I trust my daughter 100% but I will never trust all the sicko's in this world...
  • I would die if either of my parents did that too me. Luckily they are both challenged in the computer department... :] Thanks for your question.
  • If spying means I sit down at the computer in front of them and peruse what they are doing on My Space, and check to see recent history in front of them then yes I are a spy.
  • I think spy is a strong term. I know what's going on. I wised up very quickly from being a computer dullard after my 12 year old son (now 19) used my credit card to join a porn site, even though the pc was in my dining room I just hadn't spotted what was going on, I didn't know about histories, keylogging or anything vaguely useful. Now I am well aware of what my kids talk about on the net and where they play and they have time limits on their internet access. I also know where my credit card is :)
  • SPY??? Who supplied this computer? Or its electricity? So many kids think they have a "right" to computers and myspace and cell phones. My kids have all of the above, but I constantly remind my children that they are a priviledge and I will be keeping an eye out for responsible usage. I don't check every day, but I do peek in on occasion. Keeping my kids safe . . . thats my job. So anonymous- to answer both question and comments- yes, I do, and I am proud of doing the hard, unpopular part of being a parent. Sigh- parents don't seek out ways to torture you. Its just in the job description.
