Help answer this question below.

My boyfriend has OCD not real bad though. I was wondering if OCD leads to some people being controling and then abusive. I also just recently heard that he had pushed his last girlfriend and in high school that he had either hit and/or pushed his mom.

    the people I know with OCD are controlling about things like where shirts go in the closet and not touching the walls.
    Not-touching-walls guy lectures about all these stains that are going to show up if I touch the wall blah blah skin blah blah oil, but I wouldn't say it's controlling, just obnoxious. he never raised his hand to me about it.

    Shirts guy just waits till you turn around and makes a mad dash to rearrange it.

    So, no. And even if it *did* lead him to being controlling/abusive, that's really not an excuse for it to continue -- it's a reason to start therapy.

    There's no direct relationship between OCD and being controlling and abusive. Controlling might come up as an environmental issue if an element needs to be changed to satisfy a compulsion, but it doesn't link to typical male controlling/abuse.

    However, a past history of physically intimidating other women typically does.

    It might lead to controlling behavior but I can't see how it would lead to abusive behavior. Either way give him a chance, just one at least.
