Help answer this question below.

I have a Lexmark x73 that will only print in color when doing the print head cleaning process, not during normal printing. How can I fix this?

    If the software doesn't have a trouble shooter, try updating the drivers from the lexmark home page. This will often have current patches or online diagnostics.

    Irritatingly, I have found out how to solve this. I refilled my cartridges with an aftermarket ink supplier. It all went well and on replacing the cartridges I could only produce black print. I tried everything! The clean cartridge program produced prefect colour lines and the self test print on the printer showed that the cartridge was working, but printing from a comouter only produced black.

    Solution - I hear you scream. Uninstall the fekkin driver and re-install. BANG. Straight away it worked. Why did I try this? Well the only slightly odd thing about the situation was that when I went into the driver control box of the Lexmark I noticed one tell-tale thing. The box marker "Print colour in Black and white" was greyed out - implying that it was going to do so anyway.

    Hope this helps. Worked straight away. Naffing pile of bollocks.
