Do you think your kids forget the rules or just choose to ignore them?

    They just wanna do what they want to do. They know the rules just choose to ignore them until they face the consequences.

    A little bit of both.

    But then, my girls are very young (3 and 2), so it isn't a surprise. At their age, rules are repetition, and they view each thing as an individual rule. (Santa on TV stand, no. Santa on Filing cabinet, no. Drapes, no. Knives, no. Hit sister, no. Bite sister, no. Push sister, no.) Every single thing is an individual rule to her. The three sister rules, for instance: there's three to them, not one solid "be nice to your sister" rule that they understand. So it's repetition that drills it into their heads. But because they are young, until that repetition really hits home, they do forget. And sometimes, like with the santa on the filing cabinet, they ignore it, because if you press his button, he sings and moves, and it's irresistible to a 2 year old.

    simply too many rules... you tell your kids the things that you did when you were a kid... but now 75% of them are illegal... increasing exponentially... every time they feel like a raise is becoming more frequent.
