Whilst I'd like to answer this,I think I'm disqualified by being Canadian with a British Mom. :) Sorry...I just had to get that "whilst" in.
-
I would have to say there is not enough information to come up with typical characteristics because the Brits I have met here are too varied. (That may be because the sample is too small to come up with any good trends.) I am from the UK too.
-
I really love how the british say "mum" instead of"mom". I just love it. :)
-
Based on mt AB experience alone, I am completely clueless about the Brits, because I don't know which ABers are from the UK. I don't pay much attention to who is from where.
-
Whilst and mum are just the tip of the iceberg- oh yea and the john and the loo and bloody. although I'm pretty sure the last three have limited uses...
-
Based solely apon my experience with Brits here on Answerbag, I couldn't say. I've only really met a few British people here on AB, and that's not much of a cross section, now is it? I've heard a lot of probably innacurate stereotypes about British people elsewhere, but I haven't really had enough first hand experience with actual British people to notice any "Typical Characteristics" yet.

Well... most of them are very polite even when they diasgree with you. They have a way of making the most horrific insult make you almost want to say thank you.
-
Very polite and helpful in my journey to become British.

half the time I do not know the origins of who I am talking to, unless we get into conversation, or the topic draws the origin out. I haven't seen any one group of people that is nicer/not nicer than any other, judging by the people whose origins I do know.
