Help answer this question below.

I own a 1991 Buick Park Avenue with the 3800 F.I. V6. The car starts and then it shuts off. I have replaced the fuel filter and the Ignition control modual. I can hear the fuel pump when I start the engine. What is wrong. Otto Bird

    Check to see if the injectors are pulsating. If not, sounds like theft deterrent prob.

    Have you tried starting it, and giving it constant gas (just a little)? If it still runs, the the problem is definately in the fuel pump/carb or tbi area. Being a '91 I am hesitant to say that its the fuel pump switch, which is electronic on newer cars. If the car does not run while you give it gas, then I have no idea man. It's one of those things you kinda gotta be there for to pick up signs and such.

    i have the same problem. did you figure it out? cause really i started mine with a screwdriver at the selunoid and started fine a few times and ran fine. next i put a switch in and tried to start it to bypass the ignition, i am starting to think it is that stupid security detterent theft thing, now also how can i bypass that or simpley just remove this stupid feature on the buick? I am really at a loss here.
