  • To a certain degree , it has that brain numbing effect bit like some other things we can think of
  • What's boredom? I find that I am seldom bored enough to notice. Whether it's Scouts, helping my wife with her studies, helping the boys revise for their exams, reading, abluting, hiking, swimming, exercising, or anything else that I do, I keep my mind and/or body active most of the time. I think that excess boredom would give way to too much introsception, probably the creation of a 'special friend' and a propensity to 'experiment' with things like arson and violence, or self-harm. The mind needs something to do, so suffocating that makes it invent things. I suggest, then, that boredom is, indeed, harmful.
  • I believe it is destructful to the mind. There is so much to do out in our world - and if you dont want to go out into the world even reading a book is useful. I think boredom stems from anger, really, as most negative emotions do.
  • Not being bored atall is a bad thing. The prime level of bordom is at the mustard level, however once you reach that point any further bordom is has a -ve effect. ;)
  • Boredom in and of itself does no harm whatsoever. The choices people make when they are bored may lead to harm. But they also may lead to something great. Boredom is a great motivator, it just depends on what you decide to do with the motivation.
  • It can lead to stupidity for the desperation for just something to happen. For instance, boredom kills: Edit, damn, the picture isn't coming up!
  • Boredom is very harmful to me. I usually get into trouble when I get bored.
  • i smoke when i am bored so yes
