I've seen a lot of questions tonight doubting Evolution, so how would those people explain the fact that we are still physically and mentally evolving?

    The reason hard core fundamentalists fight so desperately hard against proof of evolution is because it will prove some of scripture not to be literally true.

    Those people would say that we aren't.
    That's not true, but it's good enough for them.

    Pretty easily, as you can't take a snapshot of all life at any one time and say "Whoa! Look at that evolution!" It's a lot tougher to explain all the evolution that's gone on since the first little wiggly things started swimming through the primordial ooze, though.

    Individually we're not, and we're changing our environment at will. Humans are a bad example of 'nature red in tooth and claw.

    Microorganisms on the other hand ...

    I've noticed that those who doubt evolution, are ironically the same people who don't seem to have mentally evolved.

    How do you think that you can expect people who reject the concept of evolution in the first place to admit that we are still physically and mentally evolving?

    Some might say we're not physically and mentally evolving at all. Evolution is based on survival of the fittest, the idea that only the smartest and strongest will survive to reproduce. This doesn't happen any more among humans except in very poor countries due to the scientific advances. Modern medicine for example means that people who would otherwise have died very young are able to grow up and have kids of their own, possibly passing on the genes that caused them to become ill in the first place.
    Don't get me wrong i think this is the way it should be, i wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for medical advances, but it's not survival of the fittest.

    I look at the rise in violent crime and man's inhumanity to man and I wonder if we really are physically and mentally evolving, especially mentally. You would think that we would have evolved beyond that point by now. Just a thought on my part.

    Evolution is mathmatically and scientifically impossible. But you wouldn't believe me if I gave you all the evidence to prove it so I won't.

    What evidence do you have that we are physically and mentally evolving? All I see is a bunch of cross-breeding and selective regional adaptation. I don't see any evidence that we are becoming a new species. You DO realize that species change is the basis of evolution, right? Not just adaptation within species?

    Are we still physically and mentally evolving?
    ================
    In my opinion the evolving path from monkeys to humans
    is still not completed process.
    We are still physically and mentally evolving.

    My experience.

    It was a hot summer day.
    In the zoo, near the cage of gorilla the gapers gathered.
    They laughed and threw bits of fruits and bread into the cage.
    And gorilla was twirling round in the narrow cage,
    not finding enough room for itself.
    Our eyes met and I saw agonizing pain in the eyes of gorilla.
    Its eyes were human ones.
    I gazed at it in astonishment.
    Then I transferred my glance on the people.
    They laughed and their eyes were brutal, soulless.
    Silently I observed this picture.
    Ones, having learned to walk on two feet and speak using human voice,
    preserved the ferocious hatred.
    The others, in the skin of an animal, already possess the human origin.
    Links of one chain, of one evolutional civilization.
    ===============. .
    Best wishes.

    Anyone with a fixed perspective doesn't need to explain ANYTHING.

    And, if they bothered to explain themselves, would their explanation meet your expectations?
