Do you change flowers or other gravesite items every so often at the cemetery? When? With what?

I planted blooming shrub around my parents graves.

My sister and I go to my parents graves (they're buried together)for all the holidays , if we happen to be in the area or if it's just a nice day to do some weeding. My sister always has something in her car to leave.

I actually don't even go to the gravesites. I realize they aren't there, but right here with me. :)

The only one I know of here who is buried is my husband's father and we've planted some flowering bushes on each side and in the springtime we all go and plant some annuals for the summertime.

I tend to change the silks on Mom & Dad's grave's every couple months just so they stay fresh looking, and on holidays and specials dates. Even though my sister lives here in town she has a hard time going to cemetery, for her it is not a place of peace, she seems to only go on there day of death & Birthday. Maybe because I have worked there for so long its different, to me its peaceful and hard at times but I still can find peace in my heart knowing that we take care of their resting place. The one item that I have placed on their graves that is different is : I call them night lights, we have many of them though out the cemetery. What they actual are is the solar lights you buy to put out along you walkways. They work great to polk down in flower vase and glow at night.....
