  • I was also suffering with the same problem. I applied Tenovate-G skin cream on my face at night and surprisingly it was 30% less over single night. Within one month due to regular care, now I am owner of neat & clean face.
  • for effective remedies in preventing acne and removing scars, based on my experience, i used benzoyl peroxide to eliminate the bacteria and the oil from my face. regular washing might do the trick. but for the scars, i dont know what would be the best solution to that one. im also sufering from scars made by my acne
  • For scars, you can use cocoa butter and vitamin E.
  • The best way I know to prevent acne, and acne scars, is to wash your face twice daily with mild soap, like dove (make sure your soap has no fragarence, dyes, or abrasives) and drink a lot of water & milk. (The 8 glasses a day in urban myth, you can get fluids from eating fruits or vegetables and drinking milk. Drink as many glasses as you feel *comfortable* with; just make sure your mouth is almost never try.) Drinking water and milk (especially) improves the elasticity of the skin, and washing unclogs pores. Also moisturize that say non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic. UV protection is a bonus, and if your cream doesn't have that, use sun screen on your body anytime you go out (even in winter). This has worked very well for me, and I only have the occaisonal pimple, but it's gone in 2-3 days. Find a dealer near you, these are VERY high quality products! http://shop.avon.com/avonshop/default.asp?rep_phone=&rep_email=&newdept=&s=WSRGoogle&c=WSR&otc=avon&department=KWAVON
  • I've suffered from severe acne and it left scars. for years i dealt with this my sister had it too and she had laser treatment in my opinion not the way to go it realy did nothen for her she would have needed several treatments wich r a lot of money. i started to do research on plastic surgeons and found that treatment .dermabrasion best way to go i had it done and it is relativley cheap to do .like i was told it wont go away but at a % rate i will look 70 to 80% better i like the odds. so for 500 bucks a pop it is worth it and i look 15 years younger. although i do recamend going to sleep it hurts a lot less . but make sure they are board certified! do your homework. good luck to you all i know how it feels geo
  • I thought this was a websight to find home remedys for acny, and every one here says "consult your dermatologyst!" Here is my home remedy. Sure, there are many reasons that cause acne, but in my opinion, after researching it a bit, the main cause of acne is the actual cloging of the poor which is mostly atributed to fussy dry skin. Ive always had very finiky skin and moderatly bad acne and I finaly found something that works really well, and its simple. There are a couple steps. First go to your grocery store and pay a couple bucks extra for a soap and body wash called Cetaphille. A bar of soap runs $5, you can also buy these products at Costco. This soap is magic! It has no added anything and is awsome for sensitive skin. Ive also knowtest that its helped reduce blackheads and tone my skin. By the way did you know that alot of what we think are blackheads are actually just large poors that show our melatonin (skin tint) yeah, you can squeez it out but its not going to go away unless you make your poors smaller. Large poors are mostly a result of sun damage. But like I said Cetaphille will work wonders on your poors too. Sencondly after you shower and dry, spritz your face with botanical water and then put on your moisturizer while your face is still wet. This will clear up your acne in about 2 weeks if you do it every day. Everyone's face is different so you will need to find a moisturizer that works well for you. I use one Avon products and they seem to work well for me. And thats it!!! Its simple and cheep. Let me know how it works out for you. Soleraggio@aol.com
  • well i have found that vitamin E pills can help fight acne on the inside.its found in many acne cleansers and it really help control my oily skin and seemed to smooth it out with just 2 weeks of continuous use. so i hope thats helpful for you all. good luck.
  • wow. big topic, but near and dear to my heart. i've never had serious debilitating acne, but do get cystic spots every now and then, and with a red-head's thin skin, i scar atrociously.. . here's some of my favorites (forewarning, i don't like the bodycare/beauty product industry - they're making us waste our money and put crap in and on our bodies!! don't support them if you can avoid it!!): - absolutely essential: you ARE what you EAT. dairy and sugar do a number on your liver, which controls the state of your skin. be nice to your liver, don't drink alcohol excessively, avoid anything but soy/rice/goat's milk if you must have "dairy", and avoid sugar (esp. candies and refined) as much as possible - use baking soda in the shower, in the mornings, to wash your face. it's a natural pH balancer, and a very slight exfoliant - apologize to your loved ones, and use bragg's apple cider vinegar at night (right before bed) for 3 weeks - dilute it slightly with water. it, too, is a natural pH balancer. the smell will fade after about 5-10 minutes, and you'll be asleep anyway! - use the absolute simplest, gentlest face wash out there. anything harsh (like glycolic acids, benzoyl p., salycylic acid) will prompt a reaction from your skin, usually making it produce more oil. a really good one is called Cocoon - and it's actually a baby wash, with no parabens, propylene glycol, or preservatives. find it at http://www.enfusia.com/cocoon_detail.html (or at wholefoods) - if you have oily skin, STILL wash gently, and use TEA TREE oil and/or lavender oil as a toner to calm everything down. and, most importantly, it doesn't hurt to imagine yourself as gorgeous as you wanna be, trick your body into it!!
  • Yes, cocoa butter and vitamin E do work well for scars, but if you have acne I don't see it helping the problem in the long run. I would think it would cause more oil on the skin, causing more acne.
  • well i have heard and too experienced that haldi-chandan paste helps a lot in clearing up acne. Chandan cools the face and also lightens the scars. also Multani mitti is very useful in that mixture which gives a dryin effect and removes excess oil from the face.
  • I used to have terrible skin. Fortunately for me those times have passed and I occasionaly get a tiny pimple once a month thanks to the beauty of the pill. However, if you look really close, you can tell where the scars were. I had the scars for so long, they were almost pock marks, but about three years back I started to exfoliate every night with a neutral cleanser and scrubby puff. Over time they became worn away and faded and are now almost completely gone, and I definitely think that if I had not done this, they would still be very visible. Think of it as a very slow version of microdermabrasion. It's worth a try if you can't afford the alternative.
  • I use bio oil but you can also use a mixture of .. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil. Honey Lemon oli, lemon juice, cucumber juice and Tomato juice. Mix it all together and apply on your face as a face pack after 15 mins rince off and exfoliate your face will be slightly redder but after a cold splash of water that will be gone. Also before you wash your face with the mildest purest soap you can find i use clinique extra mild, theres almost nothing in it. Use a face cloth to put very hot water on your face, dip the cloth in hott water and apply to your face to open your pores wash with mild soap then splash your face with cold water to tighten your pores again. then use a oil like bio oil or vitamin e oil then your moisturiser but make sure it it oil free and dermotologicaly tested and leave 10 mins before you put any makeup on . hope this helps email me if you have any more questions sas663@msn.com
  • use apple cider vinegar daily along with hydrogen peroxide daily. They are natural and safe...it stings a bit and keep away from your eyes. You should see results in a few days. Keep it up though...it can only do good!
  • Soaking your face in warm water infused with Lipton Tea every other night. After the soak, use the tea bags to exfoliate your face with a circular motion.
  • Super simple - ASPIRIN. Crush aspirin (non-coated) and turn into a paste using either a toner or lemon juice. Lemon juice aids in drying up acne, but if your skin is supersensitive be cautious with it. You can also use water if you would prefer. Apply to acne. Allow to sit anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on your skin tolerance. I have applied before bed and covered with bandage (but my skin is not sensitive), and that works wonders. Even works in reducing cystic acne.
  • It is always better to consult a dermatologist for treatment of acne/pimples as home made remedies donot help. You can read about acne treatment and home made remedies for beautiful glowing skin at following website http://beautifulglow.blogspot.com/
  • i'll tell you what i do: take 3 uncoated aspirin tablets & set them on a saucer or plate. drop a couple drops of water on them. when they're are soft enough to mush with your finger, do so. add about a nickel sized amount of honey to it. apply to your face. you can wear it as a mask for 10 minutes or you can use it as an exfoliant and use a toothbrush to help it get the dirt, oil, & skin cells from your face :) i learned it from MichellePhan. Check out her video tutorial on it!
  • piss on a cotton ball and dab it on your face. trust me, works everytime
