My first full-time job after college graduation? Me. I gave my resume personally to the company that I was applying for. Fortunately there was a vacancy, and they asked me to return in the afternoon to take writing and English proficiency examinations. I got hired a few days after. Apparently there was an urgent need to fill that vacancy.

My first "real" job was the summer I was 15. I was a Children's Activities Coordinator (basically a glorified camp counselor for kids on vacation whose parents wanted some free time) at a local resort hotel. My friend Renn got the job first and she recommended me to her boss. The next summer I started working at the front desk and eventually moved my way up to concierge during my summer breaks from college.

... my mother ... I was born into an Anglican family, but soon drifted away from the church, eventually becoming a Tao-Zen Buddhist ... my mother tried to rekindle my interest in the church and my mother got me a job (at age 13) doing some janitorial and grounds keeping work for our local Anglican church ... I got a flat $125.00 dollars per month and had to shovel snow (winter), plant flowers (spring), cut grass & trim trees/bushes (summer), and rake leaves (autumn) ... as well as sweep & mop floors & take out garbage. I got my first degree black belt at age 13 and my parents stopped paying for my martial arts lessons ... I had to get a job so I could be able to pay for continuing lessons by myself ...

My first paid job was watering the lawn for a neighbor. I walked around the neighborhood knocking on doors and asking neighbors if they had any work for me (age 12) and some of them called and asked me to babysit for them (once or twice), but one asked me to water her lawn every morning, which I did for the next three years. I also bought up day old donuts from the local bakery, and then went door to door with my sister and sold them for twice what I paid for them. We found a great deal with the local florist who would give us day old flowers (free) for us to sell door to door.
