  • mormons--- Steve Young. the old 49ers QB Todd Heap. Baltimore Ravens tight end The band called The Killers
  • Steve Young NFL player, Gladys Knight are supposively Mormon. Some celebrities rumored to be Mormon (key word RUMORED) are Christina Aguleira, Tom Hanks, RoseAnee (as a child, Larry King, Steve Martin, Jewel, Alice Cooper & Travis Barker. ( morgannews.us/rumor.html ) I know that Michael Jackson is Jehova's Witness. I suppose that both churches allow this. I wouldn't see why not unless they are expected to be extremely, extremely "humble".
  • I am not going to try to list all of the famous Latter-day saints. Rather I am going to refer you to http://morgannews.us/fam.html where they are listed based on profession. This list includes athletes, musicians, actors and a whole lot more. It also list many of those that have been rumored to be LDS but aren't.
  • Answering from a Jehovah’s Witnesses perspective. Are they allowed to be employed in these professions? This question indicates to me a misunderstanding of the Christian faith and practices of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and might be a common misunderstanding. There is nothing illegal or wrong with the professions that you mentioned. A Witness would not be “forbidden” to be employed in these fields or disciplined in the congregation for being employed in them. However, when you take a look at the fields mentioned, one must wonder how one might be active in the ministry and be able to grow spiritually while attending the meetings at one’s own congregation. Such enormous sacrifices as constant, busy travel schedule might harm an individual spiritually and thus hamper their spiritual growth. This could be true also of traveling sales professionals for that matter. The negative association of what the public itself sees daily among professional athletes, exposure to drugs, overdrinking, groupies and such may very well make a Christian reconsider pursing that profession. An individual who did not behave in an exemplary manner in private and in public, or one who frequently missed congregation meetings would not be considered for positions of responsibility in the Christian congregation. I have never met the individuals mentioned in the other answers so I can not reply in regard to their faith. I know that Michael Jackson is not a Jehovah’s Witness. He disassociated himself back around 1987 and has not been one since.
  • Gee, how come nobody mentioned The Osmonds? They are well known Mormons. God Bless, <:))))<><
  • I find the term "allowed" to be amusing. There are certain jobs or lines of work that would be in direct conflict with Bible principles, however I do not believe that athletics or the acting profession are in that realm. Of course, everyone has the right to make personal choices like Theresa Graves did. She was an actress that was very specific what she would and would not do in her acting career.
  • JW Prince Michael Jackson LDS Donny & Marie
  • JW Prince Michael Jackson LDS Donny & Marie
  • I don't think a Jehovah's Witness would have a successful career as an actor because people in that profession are required to play the roles of people who use bad language. However, I am currently trying to become a successful screenwriter.
  • If they're allowed to be politicians, then I don't see why they wouldn't be allowed to be anything else.
