i say direct tv my parents have had literally tried everything and we have found directv has the best picture and features and channels too also the picture is so much clearer i would go with directv

I have used both, and can honestly say that I don't think there is any significant difference between the two. I am currently on dish network simply because they had a better "special offer" the week I chose one.

Directv until you want to upgrade your equipment. Now instead of owning it, you're leasing it. Well if it's a lease I'm not about to pay 199 for an HD DVR, dish is coming in 2 days to swap me over. Nothing out of pocket, even better.
