Any animal with muscles will get sore muscles after OVERexertion. Some migratory birds are able to 'lock' their wings out, reducing the need for muscle effort to glide. But any muscle releases waste products when it is used; they all can suffer micro-tears when overused, and therefore any muscle containing nerve endings on any animal can become sore with overuse.
