A good restaurant has fresh made to order food by someone who knows what they are doing, and not frozen or prefab food bought from a food service. A good restaurant has a pleasing atmosphere. A good restaurant provides good service without having the wait staff hover, glasses should never go empty, and guests should be able to get what they request within a minute or two of requesting it (this is generally speaking to condiments). Because the good restaurant makes dishes to order, it should be pleasant enough to sit and chat while waiting for food, as fresh food takes longer to prepare.
