You're reading How is the ozone layer doing these days? You hardly here about it anymore.

There is not, nor has there ever been, a HOLE in the ozone layer. There has never been a time in human history when ozone levels have dropped to zero. It is just a thinning of the ozone layer about which people have gotten excited.
