yes. just don't blend it too much or overlap it. it would make some great contrasts. especially if you want a focal point in charcoal seeing as it's extremely dark and would pop out.
Why not try it and see? That why you experiment, right? i reckon there aren't really rules with that sort of thing.
It is absolutely OK! THe wonderful thing about art is that there are no hard and fast rules about things like this. Experimentation is how you learn your style. And mixing media can give you incredibly strong and interesting results.

I have finished the picture. The charcoal part was the darkest spot in the picture I called it my focal point. The drawing turned out better than I expected. I learned how not to blend the charcoal too much. I used it sparingly as I've worked with pen and ink and charcoal before. I shall soon see how it will present itself at an exhibition come July. Thanks!
