The smell comes from bacteria which must be killed to eliminate the odor. Clean the inside of the car and then have it defogged.

Steam cleaners work marvelously on car upholstery and carpet too.
Next time, double bag it.
The smell will eventually dissipate on its own. It will help (if you have the time) to air your car out by leaving the doors or the trunk open for a few hours. <of course this is after you cleanted up the leak>
You need to use a product that will break down the organic ingredients of the liquids so they can be completely removed from the carpet fibers. Go on line and get a product called Scat. It will take out anything organic. Apply it directly to the carpet, let it sit overnight, then rinse it out with clean wet sponges and blot dry with clean towels. Or if you have a carpet machine with a hand attachment use that. Just don't be supprised when the spot you cleaned looks alot better then the rest of your carpet and you have to do it all, LOL. www.orendapalm.com
