  • I'm not a doctor, but I have had this problem. It sounds like possibly a torn ligament causing the instability. Mine was degeneration in the joint that caused it to wobble like it was popping in and out of socket. I'm looking forward to the knee replacement that 2 specialists have said I will need eventually, (yeah, right). I have a very expensive knee brace that I have to use when I'm gonna be walking alot. Sometimes, if I don't wear it, I can step off a curb, and the knee pops,(backwards), and I go straight to the ground. Hope you have better luck.
  • i was skateboarding and i slammed my knee into the ground with all of my body weight and now it hurts to straighten it all of the way. it just happened yesterday night, and it has gotten slightly better.
  • I have the samething, my ortho surgeon has me going to physical therapy for 6 weeks and said if this don't work he'll try medications but at all costs he wants to avoid surgery. He told me surgery for patella bilateral chondromalacia is only about 60 - 70% effective and from what I read from other people who had the surgery is they still have a major amount of pain. I hope that surgery went well for you, best wishes.
  • Sounds like the ACL. I have had 3 replaced. It hurt and acted just like you talked about yours doing.
  • It sounds exactly like a... great time to call the doctor. Knee problems can be extremely painful, and if it's been a month and isn't getting better, you'll need something done about it. The only way to do that is to get a proper diagnosis with X-rays and things, and to do that, you'll have to go visit a doctor.
